Year
2024
Category
Fashion lookbook
Client
Atelier Noor (a fictional label)
Location
Studio, Gowanus, Brooklyn
Format
Lookbook, 12 looks, 48 frames

Twelve pieces, one white wall, one north window. Noor asked for clothes that look worn-in on day one, so we wore them in.

Undyed, black, a little camel. Nothing else allowed in the room.

Close crop of a hand resting on the waist of a loose white shirt tucked into pale denim
Hands pulling at a chunky ivory knit sweater against a white background
Look 02, look 04. Undyed cotton; undyed wool.
A single white shirt on a wooden hanger on a white rail against a white wall
Look 00. The shirt that started the collection.
A model in a cropped cream suit jacket and wide trousers standing against a dark brown wall
Look 07 — cream suiting, cropped jacket, trousers cut wide.
Close crop of a black blazer collar and a fine gold chain necklace against bare skin
Look 09 — black wool, gold at the throat. Nothing else.
A woman in a black silk slip top with a camel coat slipping off one shoulder, hand at her chin
Close crop of black leather slip-on shoes and cuffed tan trousers on a wooden chair
Look 10, and its shoes.

Every piece shot on the same three metres of floor.

A woman in a white top and pale trousers with a camel coat on one arm and a wide-brimmed hat, outdoors among stone arches
Look 11, outside, because the light moved and we followed it.
A woman in a white linen dress seated in a pale armchair, cropped at the shoulders
Look 12. The last frame of the day.

Notes

Atelier Noor is a small label with a strict palette: undyed, black, a little camel. The brief was a lookbook that a buyer could read in thirty seconds and a customer could live in for a season.

We built it like a contact sheet: same wall, same window, same distance. That way the clothes are the only thing that changes.
